Airports

INTRODUCTION

Besides the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport, the Airport Authority (EAAI) currently manages three domestic airports in Bluefields, Puerto Cabezas and Corn Island on Nicaragua's Atlantic Coast.

The Bluefields and Puerto Cabezas air terminals were recently remodeled and fully equipped with state-of-the-art security equipment to safeguard aeronautical operations and provide greater comfort to our passengers. In order to promote tourism in Nicaragua's South Atlantic region, a study was undertaken in February 2001 to consider the possibility of building a new air terminal in San Juan of Nic.

The project includes the construction of a 470-square meter air terminal and a new runway - 1,300 meters long and 35 meters wide - as well as a taxiway - 30 meters long and 15 meters wide - and a parking apron - 6,000 m².We invite you to visit our Blufields, Puerto Cabezas and Corn Island websites, where you will find valuable regarding hotels, transportation, restaurants, airport services, etc.
